Music policy

Our music policy can best be described as... Balearic. Whether this is a correct genre term is an open debate, and we may be the first ones to use it as such! But it has to do with the inclusion of a broad category of music which is both groovy and emotive. Etymologically, the idea comes Spain's Balearic islands, especially Ibiza. On this island – known for its 24/7 party atmosphere, laid back sunset grooves, and especially as a Mecca for dance music aficionados – anything goes. Depending on the time of day, you will hear sounds ranging from Bob Marley to James Brown to Zero Seven to the world's most renowned club DJs. Just ask Jay-Z, who once ate a pizza there.

History

The story of Raven Entertainment begins with a chance meeting of two DJs in 1998. Larry B had been deejaying gradeschool and private parties since the days of cassette tapes... and arguably still didn't know how to mix, or care for that matter, since he had other ways to please the crowd. Greg Lundberg had started deejaying fraternity parties at university two years earlier and had found his calling. He was still working a day job at Tower Records when Larry walked in to pick up a CD for a wedding he was about to play, and Greg offered assistance. The two got to talking (an easy feat anytime the name Larry is mentioned) and Larry went on his way. But less than a year later the two DJs, working for different companies, bumped into each other again at a bridal show. They became friends and eventually started doing gigs together. Larry knew how to work a crowd up using only a microphone, and Greg forever had his head in the music. The combination of colorful, energetic microphone work and adept musical selection resulted in them being well received by a wide variety of audiences. The formula was born and shortly thereafter, the two founded Raven Entertainment. Whether it was working for William Morris Agency at Sundance Film Festival, opening the Austin Powers premiere party in Los Angeles, playing international weddings in far flung locations, or countless corporate and private parties, they found their combined skills explosive.

Today the company has expanded to include several more specialized MCs and DJs, enabling us to deliver you a performance above and beyond your expectations. We do not compromise on our commitment – our aim is always to deliver dynamic hosting and superior musical repertoir.
